Dodged Magazine is a global platform dedicated to showcasing contemporary art photography from photographers all over the world. Founded by Evgenia Rieger and Markus Schlamadinger, the magazine provides a curated space where exceptional photographic works are displayed, aiming to celebrate creative expression in the field of visual arts.

Dodged Magazine focuses on bringing fresh perspectives that push boundaries, inspire creativity, and engage the viewer in meaningful visual storytelling.

We highlight visual storytelling, artistic vision, and innovative approaches to contemporary photography, presenting both emerging and established photographers. Our platform not only displays photography but fosters a community where artistic exchange and collaboration thrive.

Curated Photography from Global Artists

Photographers from every corner of the globe are invited to submit their work, which is then thoroughly reviewed and curated by our editorial team. We seek authentic, thought-provoking imagery that captures the essence of contemporary photography. Each submission goes through a careful selection process that emphasizes innovative photography, exceptional craftsmanship, and the artist's unique perspective.

At Dodged Magazine, we are committed to presenting photography that challenges conventions, pushes the boundaries of artistic expression, and engages with critical social issues.

Showcasing the Best in Contemporary Photography

To go beyond standard curated selections, we have created the Dodged Masterpieces — a distinguished collection of the finest works from each submission cycle. This selection represents the crème de la crème of contemporary art photography, showcasing pieces that push the limits of artistic boundaries, leave a lasting impact, and embody the essence of contemporary art photography.

At Dodged Magazine, we believe in the power of photography to inspire, provoke thought, and redefine artistic norms. Every image we publish is selected for its artistic quality and its capacity to tell a unique story that resonates with audiences.

Evgenia Rieger

Founder & Chief editor

Evgenia Rieger is an artist originally from the village of Belye Stolby near Moscow, now living in Graz, Austria. She is known for her distinctive approach to photography, which combines minimalism with deep emotional resonance.

Her creative journey began early. As a child she attended fine art classes, and as a teenager she experimented with photography and digital compositing.

Her creative process is based on spontaneity and experimentation. She is often guided by the moment rather than working from pre-determined themes. She is drawn to natural elements such as flowers. By using them she adds unexpected details and textures to her work. These natural elements are metaphors for fragility and beauty.

As an artist, she looks at life through the lens of art. She appreciates beauty and imperfection in both the ordinary and the extra-ordinary. Her art is very personal, often reflecting her own inner thoughts and feelings, with the goal of evoking emotion and connection with the viewer. She is inspired by nature, various materials and even fairy tales, emphasizing simplicity and minimalism in her work.

Exhibiting internationally and publishing in numerous magazines, she continues to push her creative boundaries as she explores the ever-evolving relationship between art, nature and the human experience.

Markus Schlamadinger

Founder & Chief editor

Markus Schlamadinger was born in Graz, Austria, and is a portrait photographer with a distinct focus on nude photography. His artistic approach spans both digital and analog mediums, with his analog work including medium format, 35mm film, and Polaroid. A self-taught photographer, he honed his skills in classical portrait and nude photography under the mentorship of renowned U.S. photographer Greg Gorman, before refining his craft and evolving his unique style independently.

Schlamadinger's work has garnered international acclaim, with publications in numerous prestigious magazines and blogs.

His art has been exhibited globally, including exhibitions in Milan, Paris, London and New York.

Markus Schlamadinger's photography explores human experiences and societal issues with depth and authenticity. Using natural light and minimalist staging, he emphasizes unfiltered humanity. Nudity in his work serves as a stylistic device, symbolizing purity and vulnerability while revealing emotional depth and inner truth. His approach ensures his subjects are celebrated for their stories rather than objectified.

Schlamadinger's compositions are rich in symbolism, addressing themes of transformation, hope, and responsibility. His art merges visual elegance with intellectual depth, encouraging viewers to engage with the complexity of human existence.
